While I worked as a pharmacist in Japan, I loved creating ikebana work. After I moved to the States and while raising two sons, I started taking flower arrangement courses at Orange Coast College and finally started to study Sogetsu ikebana under Miyako Gyokusen Arao in 2008. Since then, I have been participating in workshops (UC Fullerton Japan Expo, Laguna Woods Garden Club, City of Irvine Global Village Festival) and exhibitions (Sogetsu Los Angeles Branch, OC Fair, OC Center for Contemporary Art). I’m currently a member of Sogetsu Ikebana Teachers Association and a board member of Sogetsu Ikebana Los Angeles Branch.
